• Mole mapping — consultant-led clinical photography and serial monitoring for high-risk patients
• Allergy patch testing — identification of contact allergens causing dermatitis
• Mycology — skin scrapings and nail clippings for laboratory analysis of fungal infections
• Blood tests — arranged where systemic causes of skin disease require investigation

Surgical Expertise

Where a condition requires surgical management, patients are referred to consultant plastic surgeons — specialists who combine oncological precision with reconstructive expertise. The surgical team offers:

• Skin cancer surgery — wide local excision with histological margin confirmation for BCC, SCC, and melanoma
• Sentinel lymph node biopsy — for eligible melanoma patients, performed by a surgeon who is Clinical Lead for Skin Cancer at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust
• Complex facial reconstruction — skin flaps and skin grafts for large or anatomically sensitive excisions
• Keloid scar surgery — excision combined with intralesional steroid injections or next-day radiotherapy to minimise recurrence
• Mole, cyst, and lipoma removal — precise excision under local anaesthetic with minimal scarring
• Skin tag and milia removal — quick, in-clinic procedures
